Why are Marketing Ladders so important? Because customers are happiest when they have something to buy and having a steady marketing ladder in place gives them the opportunity.
A marketing ladder give you, the business owner, a structure to sell more and more of your “stuff” at higher and higher prices and it gives your customers a chance buy more and more “stuff” from someone they know, like and trust.
But we’re oddly squeamish about our habit of buying- we label it “consumerism” and think it’s the dark side of our society. Our parents (or grandparents, or great-grandparents) were more frugal and better savers. They lived a simpler life with less material comfort so we feel guilty.
And we’ve seen the devastating effects on the economy when our craving for “stuff” leaves our economy dependant on buying $500,000 homes and 60” flat screen TVs.
But Marketing Ladders aren’t actually about buying “stuff”…
A marketing ladder really is about making your customers happy.
